Answers:Write a Equivalent Fraction by replacing the variable with a number? Look at the pair of numbers you have ... like 9 and 63 in the second question. The 63 is 7 x 9 so 7 x c = 49, >> c = ... In second section look for common factors of the two numbers: 56/84 both have 7 as a common factor, so divide each number by 7 to give.... Having done this once, do check to see if you can do it again. write each as a mixed number ... 38/6 means you have 38 onesixths. 6 onesixths make a whole 1, so 38/6 will make 6 whole ones with 2/6 left over {cancels to 1/3}. So you answer is 6 1/3. The rest are similar. write each as a improper fraction in lowest terms reverses the last type, so 6 1/3 would be 6x3 = 18 and then add on the one to give 19 thirds or 19/3 { or 38/6 of course}. In the same way 9 7/20 would be 9x20+7 over 20 ... or 187 twentieths!

Question:My teacher gave my class homework and it tells us to write fractions as equivalent fractions.... and she did not tell us how to do it. Can someone please help me?
Answers:Equivalent fractions are like 2/3 = 4/6. You just multiply the numerator and denominator by the same thing In this case 9 * 2 / 10 * 2 = 18/20 is an equivalent fraction. So is 9 * 3 / 10 * 3 = 27/30 You can keep going if you want. 9 * 4 / 10 * 4 = 36/40 These are all equivalent fractions to 9/10
