All microorganisms are not harful, some are useful too and most of them are harmless. These are found every where in plenty. Pathogens are those microorganisms which causes diseases if ingested or goes into the human systems. These are one type of harmful micoorganisms. There are other type of harmful organisms which produce toxins when multiply and these toxins when ingested cause sickness. Answers:abiotic factors are things like water (eg moisture, humidity levels), temperature and chemicals in the environment. Bacteria and fungi like warm (eh 25-37oC) and moist (but not wet) conditions for optimum growth. In places where its dry and cold eg Antarctica or dry and hot eg Egypt, South American Derserts, mummies can kept for thousands of years or animals lay around for many years as bacteria/fungi do not grow well or at all in those places and things can be preserved for many years. In the tropics, things rot very quickly and you can get many diseases there. In antractica you don't get colds or flu as the temps are too cold for even viruses to live their happily! Sometimes chemicals in the environment will prevent or promote growth of microbes eg sulfur is used as an antifungal for organic gardens etc as it kills many fungi.
