Question:I'm considering buying an SSD for my desktop for Christmas, (between 120 - 128 GB) to use for my boot drive, and I'll demote my VelociRaptor to my secondary drive (don't really need the 1TB Caviar Black which is now my secondary drive).
A couple of quick questions:
1) What is the difference between SATA II and SATA III ?
2) Is there any difference between a 2.5" and a 3.5" SSD in terms of performance / reliability / longevity ?
Finally, any opinions on these:
*** The max I want to spend is $300 US.
HP 112y Desktop
Win 7 Pro
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 925
8GB DDR3 RAM
XFX-ATI Radeon 5570 1GB DDR3
Western Digital 320 GB VelociRaptor @ 10,000 rpm
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black @ 7200 rpm
*** Any other advice or comments you'd like to throw in will also be appreciated.
Answers:(1) SATA III is much faster than SATA II, that is the main difference but you have to make sure your motherboard supports SATA III otherwise you aren't going to get any additional speed.
(2) No major differences between the two sizes besides the obvious size differences.
As for the options, I suggest you check out www.pcper.com/ssd to figure out what the best SSD is for you.

Question:Ok I am going to be 15 in a little less than a month. My question is can I start to take course #107 now, before I turn 15, than when I do I can go get my permit? Or how does that work? THe FAQ says "The state of Texas requires that you be at least 14 years of age. However, you will want to take Module 1 and apply for your Learner's Permit six months before your 16th birthday." What is Module 1? Can I have my permit for more than 6 months? Because I would like to get my permit when I turn 15 but I wont be able to get my licence for another year. I don't know whether my questions make sence but if they do can someone please answer them?
Answers:Yes you can start.......
The student is required to complete a minimum of 6 hours of the classroom instructions, contained in Module One, "Texas Driver Responsibilities - Knowing Texas Traffic Laws" as prescribed in Course 101 or as prescribed under one of the other Texas Department of Public Safety approved PTDE programs (Course 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108 or 109).
After completion of this portion of classroom instruction, the student must apply for a Texas Instruction Permit from the Texas Department of Public Safety provided the student is at least 15 years of age and meets all other eligibility requirements.
The student completes all 32 hours of classroom instruction of the program as prescribed in Course 101 or as prescribed under one of the other Texas Department of Public Safety approved PTDE programs (Course 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108 or 109).
The student is then eligible to test for a Texas Instruction Permit. Prior to advancing to the 14 hours of behind-the-wheel and in-car practice, the student must be at least 15 years of age and meet all other eligibility requirements to obtain a Texas Instruction Permit.
If a student selects the block method but wishes to transfer to or from the Parent Taught Program or a TEA approved driver training school, all 32 hours of classroom instruction must be completed prior to transferring to a TEA approved driver training school.
No hours of instruction (classroom or behind -the- wheel) may be transferred between the Parent Taught Program and a TEA approved driver training school.
Since you are taking the "Texas Parent Taught Driver Education" everything is included on the instructions that came with the packet.
