biotic components of the pond ecosystem

Biotic components are the living things that shape an ecosystem. A biotic factor is any living component that affects another organism, including animals that consume the organism in question, and the living food that the organism consumes. Biotic factors include human influence.
Biotic components are contrasted to abiotic components, which are non-living components of an organism's environment, such as temperature, light, moisture, air currents, etc.
Biotic components usually include:
- Producers, i.e. autotrophs: e.g. plants; they convert the energy (from the sun, or other sources such as hydrothermal vents) into food.
- Consumers, i.e. heterotrophs: e.g. animals; they depend upon producers for food.
- Decomposers, i.e. detritivores: e.g. fungi and bacteria; they break down chemicals from producers and consumers into simpler form which can be reused.

Answers:Yes. Abiotic components are things like sunlight, water, mineral nutrients, CO2, O2, etc. Biotic components are all living things: bacteria, fungi, plants, animals. Both of these components are required for an ecosystem.
Answers:The biotic components of the ecosystem can be categorized as either producers or consumers. Producers are autotrophic organisms with the capability of carrying out photosynthesis and making food themselves, and indirectly for the other organisms as well. In terrestrial ecosystems the producers are predominantly green plants, while in freshwater and marine ecosystems the dominant producers are various species of algae. Consumers are heterotrophic organisms that used food that has already been performed by other organisms. It is possible to distinguish four types of consumers, depending on their food source. The abiotic components include soil, water, light, inorganic nutrients and weather.
Answers:Abiotic: Water, Air, Nutrients, Rocks, Heat, Solar energy Biotic: Anything living or once living
Answers:A. abiotic are non-living (rocks) and biotic are living (plants) B is false since the definition of abiotic is nonliving and the definition of biotic is living. C is false since animals and plants which are living also make up an ecosystem. D is false since nonliving things like temperature, soil, and rocks also make up the ecosystem.
