Question:When i put calcium in water it dissolved and made the liquid that was left in the beaker murky and was no longer colourless. I know that a gas was formed (hydrogen) from a flaming splint test. Could someone please tell me what the balanced chemical equation is?
My guess is that the word equation is:
Calcium+Water--> Hydrogen +CalciumOxide.
Am i right?
Answers:Well, pretty darn close!
The word equation is actually Calcium + Water --> Calcium Hydroxide + Hydrogen Gas...
So the balanced symbol equation is:
Ca + 2 H2O --> Ca(OH)2 + H2
2H PO + 3Ca(OH) ---> Ca (PO ) + 6H O
Hope this helps!
Question:I need help with two different balanced equations!
The first one is:
Calcium hydroxide and phosphoric acid react to form calcium phosphate and water.
The second one is:
Hydrogen gas and nitrogen monoxide react to form water and nitrogen gas.
Answers:3 Ca(OH)2 + 2 H3PO4 = Ca3(PO4)2 + 6 H2O
2H2 +2 NO = 2H2O + N2
Question:i dont know the acctual equation for this, can anybody tell me?
Answers:Heres the balanced equation
CaO + 2 HCl --> CaCl2 + H2O
Calcium Metal in Water :A small piece of calcium metal is put into a graduated cylinder containing water. The calcium metal reacts with water producing bubbles of pure hydrogen gas, plus the reaction turns the water into calcium hydroxide also known as 'lime water'. The equation of the reaction: Ca(s) + 2H2O(l) Ca(OH)2(aq) + H2(g)
