Question:hi, I come from a genetically predisposed family of stick. we cannot gain weight. it took my father many years of gluttony and alcoholism to gain weight. I am 5'11" and about 135lbs. way too skinny. i want to gain just to like 150. nothing big. not trying to like bulk like the hulk. i have tried EVERYthing, but maybe not consistently enough or done at the right frequency, but after much time trying, I feel I have come down with a better routine. 4 times a week I do heavy resistance training. I do not have access to heavy weights, so I have to work at home. I do inverted on my fist push ups at a strong 50 degree angle, 5 sets of 12 reps, then 3 sets of 5 reps either pull ups or chin ups (trying to building upper body). It seems a hardgainer like me has a hard time breaking that first threshold of actually gaining fat or muscle. i've struggled mostly with the diet, I just cannot eat 6 times a day no matter what I do or how hard I try. but i want advice on my diet. please note I do not care if I gain muscle or fat, either is FINE with me, i'm at about 3% body fat as is, so some pure fat would be great. here is my diet morning #1 - large glass of; whole milk, one large scoop vanilla ice cream, 5 tablespoons olive oil. morning #2 - a small pastry with a few handfuls of walnuts lunch #1 - a very large helping of butter fried rice with egg, sometimes chicken or beef added post lunch - 20-30 walnuts throughout the end of work dinner - beef soup, with side of bread, noodles, about 9 cuts of beef in soup, an orange juice post dinner - 1 can of ensure right before bed - 1 more large glass of whole milk, 1 scoop vanilla ice cream and a shit load of olive oil. I feel like this is a good balance, the walnuts and olive oil and milk provide lots of calories, fat, protein and don't fill me ups so much. is this a good diet. is there any other way to gain weigh. I do not want or like protein powders, so don't even mention them. also, is it hardest or easierst to gain weight at first. I feel like i've read that if you really workout hard 4-5 times a week the first 15lbs or so comes quickly, but its after that it becomes very hard to then gain alot of weight fast. is this true. my body is so skinny and scrawny, shouldn't a good full diet and heavy workout hel pit get to normaL?

That bread should be whole-wheat, multigrain or sprouted grain. 5. I need to see more plants. This diet is low in vitamins and minerals and honestly not very healthy. Try making protein shakes with bananas or berries - they're very easy to make high-calorie if you use full-fat milk or yogurt and a couple scoops of protein powder. Add diverse vegetables to your fried rice and soup. Put berries on your ice cream. Overall, I think this diet has a very good chance of success if you accept my revisions. Good luck!
