Question:Hi,
I'm learning algebra and have encountered a couple of symbols which I don't know the meaning of.
The first one is like an = sign but there are three horizontal lines, not two.
The other sign is three dots in a triangle formation. There are two dots on the bottom and one centerally located same distance appart at the top. What do they mean?
Thanks

Question:its sorta a squiggly x its usually next to a number.
I don't mean multiplication,
its in my algebra book and i seemed to have missed learning that __
here's an example if someone could explain it to me?
5x + 2x = 35
i dont get it ^^;;; How do you solve the problem?
Answers:It is like you have 5 apple and 2 apple. X is a variable like apple or anything. The coefficient in front of the x shows you how many "x" you have. Here you have 5+2 = 7 apple and Let say 7 apple is 35$, then one apple is 5$. Use math this means that ; x=5.

I think the Astrix is multiply and the forward slash is divide. What about the others?
