We also need to speak, study and discuss spiritual practices of tribal groups in a discerning manner. As religion, philosophy, spirituality and science can be manipulated, it is important to be discerning. The following are wonderful and inspiring quotes from the Bible in which Jesus Christ, a brave humanitarian activist, stood up against crass “high priests and teachers of the law.” “Jesus was led by a wicked force to be tempted. The tempter said, “If you are the child of the (w)holy spirit, tell these stones to become bread.” … Continue reading

In India, due to the problem and dominance of crass privatization of the education system, good quality government neighbourhood schools are very few. In Kerala, the rather idealistic democratic and socialist (Marxist led) government came to power after the freedom struggle. This led to more equitable distribution of land and the establishment of well-run neighbourhood government schools. Thus, Kerala is one of the most literate states in India with good human development indices. Also, in other states, dedicated and passionate Christian-run schools provided some semblance of relatively good quality education to the “middle class” and poor. In fact, at least, the Northeastern states are also one of the more literate states. However, this was unfortunately usurped by wicked vested interests and sinister privatization forces. Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and their intimidating group are now trying to torment poor and vulnerable … Continue reading
